John Mills

Carnival · Nature · Everyday life

Born in St. Kitts and raised in Antigua and Barbuda. Educated in Antigua and Barbuda and Canada. Proud parent of three children and grandparent of six.

Professional Experience

Recently retired after 26 years as an Automotive Technical Instructor with Bosch Automotive Service Solutions and SPX Service Solutions. Previous roles include Part-time Instructor at Centennial College, Trustee with the City of York Board of Education, and Automotive Technician.

Volunteer Leadership

Served in leadership roles with numerous community organisations, including St. Clair Community Youth Services, York Community Services, the Antigua and Barbuda Association of Toronto, The Investment Network, and the Organisation of Calypso Performing Artists. Currently President of Antigua and Barbuda Emergency Relief Canada.

Award

Recipient of the African-Canadian Achievement Award for Excellence in Parenting (Pride Magazine, 2014).

Hobbies

Guitarist in a local band performing calypso, soca, reggae, and R&B; active in gardening and photography.
